Marjorie’s Story

Returning home from a summer away, it is evident that Marjorie’s faith has grown and her heart is on the mend.  However, the gossip in town, as well as the disrupting presence of a newcomer, begins to reach a height that threatens reputations as well as relationships. While Marjorie and Leonard are working to find where their paths will lead, Ralph and Estelle begin to question if the paths they chose were the right ones with the best possible outcomes. In Overruled, fate is questioned. Ultimately, Marjorie must learn to trust where God leads her, knowing that His power is greater and His plan for her life is always best.

Hopeful and idealistic young Marjorie had everything lined up for a wonderful life—on paper. Her close childhood friend, Ralph, is fully expected to become her husband and is pursuing a successful career. Both come from respectable Christian families and hold bright futures. Neither of them realize the gravity of living life as shallowly as they have so far. Ralph’s pursuit of career and self-interest begins to come between his relationship with Marjorie and through her heartbreak, confusion, and introspection, she begins to truly pursue God and to deepen her understanding of faith.
