Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto are hired to find the heir to the Burnbacher Smoked Jams & Jellies Fortune, who is somewhere in the foster care system as an orphan. As our heroes work to find the child before numerous conniving fortune hunters do, they also discover some interesting things about adoption into the kingdom of God.

The theft of an inexpensive music box leads Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto on a journey of hidden messages, secret codes and over a million dollars in stolen money. To help solve the case, they apply some of the steps needed to truly understand the parables of Jesus.

Proverbs 14:12 tells us that “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Nick Guy tells a story about his great grandfather that illustrates this verse with a background of nihilium prospectors and monkey ranchers.

Hermeneutics is the study of interpretation, which provides helpful tools for interpreting the books of the Bible. Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto also find some of these tools helpful in deciphering the work of a physical chemist and keeping his work from falling into the wrong hands.

After nearly seven years, Stanton Brownwell has returned after being shipwrecked on an uncharted desert island. But is it really Stanton Brownwell or an imposter? A series of increasingly dangerous pranks are being played on the Motville Yodelers, a team that needs no help in losing ballgames. Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto are called upon to discover who is responsible. They also reveal why we should leave vengeance in the hands of God.

A young private detective from New Dublin, Canada is visiting in the United States. Shortly after meeting Nick Guy, they get involved in a sinister plot by a secret society to control the world, starting with a Summit of Peace and Tolerance. When Nick Guy is approached about having a movie made from one of his cases involving one of his arch-nemeses, Felina Feral, he is initially excited. But when he discovers that the movie portrays Felina Feral as a victim of circumstance and attempts to justify her actions while systematically dismantling what the Bible says about man’s guilt before God, he must work to uncover who is behind this plan and how to bring it to an end.

Dr. Frances Stein, a Domestic Scientist, hires Nick Guy to recover her stolen Suspended Animation Transmizer. Along the way, Nick Guy comes to better understand how the treasures of earth are not eternal, and are subject to decay and loss. The treasures of heaven are eternal and have been secured by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Something strange is going on at Camp Nimoy, and so, Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto return to the Summer Camp to uncover what that strange something is. Along the way, they learn how many times God’s ways run counter intuitive to the ways of man. Someone’s way is wrong…and it’s not God’s.

Dr. Heathcliff Hallis is an old school mate of Dr. DeSoto who finds himself in danger because of research he is doing to improve potato production. This investigation gives Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto the opportunity to look into the life and faith of Dr. George Washington Carver.

Nick Guy & Dr. DeSoto get an urgent call for help from their friends Billy Orbach and Russell Trout, setting the stage for them to examine something called “deconstructionism.” It is a good thing to challenge and test what we believe. But in the process we must be careful not to abandon one false belief for another.
